Q&A with Director of Strategic Business, Christin Myers
Despite only being at OpenWorks for a little over a year, Christin Myers has been promoted twice since joining the team, proving just how much OpenWorks recognizes the skills and value she brings to the company. Here, Christin talks us through her experience with OpenWorks so far, from what a typical day looks like, to what she loves most about her job.
Q: What is your position at OpenWorks and how long have you been with the company?
A: I’ve been with OpenWorks for a year. Previously I was the Regional Director in Seattle, and at the beginning of January, I started the transition into my new role as Director of Strategic Business.
Q: What are your job responsibilities, or what does a typical day look like for you at your job?
A: In my new role I will assist our strategic sales team with driving net new sales, as well as assisting with growing our top customers.
Q: What led you to working for OpenWorks? (Also, if you were promoted from within, please elaborate)
A: I was impressed with the leadership team I interviewed with at OpenWorks, which ultimately led to the decision to move to the RD role. I also was excited about the explosive growth OpenWorks was experiencing, and wanted to get back with a company who was expanding in size vs. shrinking. Being a part of a growing company is exciting, challenging, and rewarding. The work we do daily matters, and you can see the difference you/your team are making!
Q: What do you love about your job?
A: The role of the Strategic Sales team can have a huge impact on OpenWorks! We can help drive a larger, nationwide presence, as well as impact the bottom line. Also, knowing our team is able to help each of the regional offices achieve their AdVol and RJS objectives is awesome too. One team, one dream!
Q: What do you love about working for OpenWorks?
A: The OpenWorks team is great! The genuinely care about me, as a person. We are a competitive, driven group, driving for the same goal, which is growing the organization.
Q: What makes OpenWorks the employer of choice?
A: The people I work with. The ability to grow both personally and professionally. The growth, which makes coming to work each day exciting.
Q: Is there anything coming up that you’re excited about in your job or for OpenWorks in general?
A: I am excited about diving into the Director of Strategic Business role in 2018. There is a lot of uncapped potential in the strategic sales world, and I am ready to crack the code with my new team! Exciting times ahead.
