    Q&A with District Manager, Monica Andreas

    When Monica joined OpenWorks in mid-2016 as a Regional Support Specialist, she almost immediately that she wanted to work up to a District Manager position. Having recently been promoted to that very position, Monica is sharing what it’s like to work for a company like OpenWorks, and why she loves it so much!

    Q: What is your position at OpenWorks and how long have you been with the company? 

    A: My current position is District Manager, I have been with OpenWorks since July 2016.

    Q: What are your job responsibilities, or what does a typical day look like for you at your job?

    A: One of the things I love about being part of Operations, there isn’t ever really a typical day.  Some days are client meetings, walk throughs and phone calls. Other days are bidding, inspections, and even rolling up your sleeves and cleaning accounts on some nights. Whatever is necessary to keep our clients happy and our franchise owners successful.

    Q: What led you to working for OpenWorks?

    A: I have worked with Jennifer Jones before, who has worked for OpenWorks for years. We have known each other since High School. Jenn always told me how much she enjoyed working for OpenWorks. So, when the opportunity arose with a position as Regional Support, I jumped right on it. I spent 9 months as regional support learning our system, getting to know our franchise owners, clients and learning the ins and outs of who we are as a company and the services we provide.

    I knew early on that I wanted to be a District Manager, given my years in operations with another company. I mentioned in my new hire training class that it was my goal to be a DM before I hit my 1 year anniversary with OpenWorks and I achieved that goal. A DM position became available and I didn’t hesitate to request an interview. I’m in my element, and I’m a happy girl.

    Q: What do you love about your job?

    A: I am a fixer. I always have been. So, this position is a very natural place for me. I love meeting new people and keeping them happy. Operations is just where I needed to be. One of the best things about my job is that things are always changing and progressing. There’s never a dull moment and you’re always busy.

    Q: What do you love about working for OpenWorks? 

    A: I love that the growth that I want to achieve is always supported. Professional growth is very important to me, and I love that my never-ending journey to reach my full potential is highly encouraged by my peers and superiors.

    Q: What makes OpenWorks the employer of choice? 

    The people.  I LOVE THE PEOPLE.  My peers are amazing.  Each in their own way.  They are fun, helpful, supportive… everything I want in a work environment. I enjoy working with every member of our “Framily”.

    OpenWorks has a great idea of what it takes to keep their employees happy, motivated and productive. From team building events to contests, encouraging emails and trips… Overall, I would have to say this is the best company I have ever worked for, by far.

    Q: Is there anything coming up that you’re excited about in your job or for OpenWorks in general?  

    President’s Club. I’m looking forward to President’s Club. Oh, I’m going. Eventually. I’m going to crush my numbers and get that trip. In the interim, I’m excited to be learning new things and growing personally and professionally.  I know that with the support I have in place, I can only go up from here. I don’t know what the future holds for me at OpenWorks. But maybe THAT’S the exciting part.
