    Q&A with Houston Regional Director

     

    OpenWorks’ newest market is in Houston, and we’re excited to see the successes that our third Texas market will bring. Leading the effort is our Houston Regional Director, Koby O’Hara, a native Texan and a long-time leader in the cleaning and facility maintenance industry. Nose to the grindstone, Koby is ready to take on the challenge of establishing yet another successful OpenWorks market, but first, we’d like him to answer a few questions:

    Q: What is your role at OpenWorks?

    A: As the Regional Director for Houston, I pretty much do anything and everything right now. We’re about to sign our lease for our new location, I’m hiring my sales and operations team and selling franchisees to new owners. Next I’ll need to make sure my staff and our franchises are trained and delivering the highest level of service possible, and as always, growing the business.

    I’m really excited for the success the Houston market will bring to OpenWorks. Houston is such a great fit for OpenWorks. It has a wide variety of facilities that are in need of our kinds of services — industrial, educational, medical, you name it. And we already have a large number of corporate accounts with offices in the Houston area.

    Q: What is the best thing about working for OpenWorks?

    A: That’s a hard choice to make! On one hand, the culture is unlike anywhere else I’ve ever worked. Totally transparent, fun, and performance-based. We have great people, and OpenWorks is a great company. On the other hand, opening up and establishing a new market is very exciting — we get to set the standard for how we will be known for years to come.

    Q: What led you to working for OpenWorks?

    A: I had several recruiters call me towards the end of 2016 with different options, but something kept pulling me back to Openworks. There was just something about the people, the opportunity for growth, the ability to hire, train and develop my own staff from day one — it just felt right to me. And I really like that I get to partner with my franchise owners. We aren’t just selling franchise opportunities, we’re partners in helping them start and grow their own business. That’s a great feeling at the end of day.
