Victoria joined the OpenWorks team in 2016, and since then has seen her career grow alongside the company. Originally starting as a Regional Director in the Austin region, Victoria has since been promoted twice, most recently as OpenWorks’s Director of National Development. Below, Victoria takes us through her OpenWorks experience, and what she values about coming to work every day.
Q: What is your position at OpenWorks and how long have you been with the company?
A: I am the Director of National Development and I started with OpenWorks in June, 2016.
Q: What are your job responsibilities, or what does a typical day look like for you at your job?
A: My primary responsibility with OpenWorks is to ensure that nationally we are obtaining our new sales objectives. My work is very involved with new hire training, which is hosted at our corporate office in Phoenix. To ensure that our employees obtain maximum support in starting with us, I will also travel to OpenWorks’s different regions, helping our Account Executives with honing their field skills in their market. One of the things I like most is that the days aren’t typical; they could range from face time with customers, attending first time appointments with Account Executives, to facilitating additional sales trainings. I could be in Florida one week and Texas the next.
Q: What led you to working for OpenWorks? (Also, if you were promoted from within, please elaborate)
A: I started with OpenWorks as Austin’s Regional Director in June of 2016. I come from a background of outside business to business sales and new market development. I was very attracted to Austin being a new market for OpenWorks, I love creating new markets and completing all of the ground work to get something up and going. While the industry was something new to me, OpenWorks fell into exactly what I was looking for in career growth. I have since been promoted twice and am currently the Director of National Development.
Q: What do you love about your job?
A: I enjoy that there is something new and far from mundane. I also enjoy that I am able to travel and make a connection with employees across many regions.
Q: What do you love about working for OpenWorks?
A: I like that although we are national, our company has a very personal and close culture, you’re far from just a number and your commitments and output matter. I also love that while we’ve been in business for over 33 years, we’re nimble and are always looking for how to be bigger and better. We have the strength that tenure in business gives you, and the agility to adapt.

Q: Is there anything coming up that you’re excited about in your job or for OpenWorks in general?
A: OpenWorks is a growing organization and I find our expansion exciting. With my promotion being recent, I am excited to travel across markets and make a positive impact in our Account Executives hitting their sales metrics in 2018. OpenWorks has a generous compensation plan for our Account Executives and I understand that their sales not only impact our organization, but their personal goals and finances as well.
