This is Chris Grot’s third year with OpenWorks, having started as a District Manager with OpenWorks in October 2014. Since then, Chris has worked himself up to National Operations Manager and is training our District Managers across the country. Chris tells us more about his OpenWorks experience, and what he loves about coming to work every day.
Q: What is your position at OpenWorks and how long have you been with the company?
A: I am the National Operations Manager, I have been with OW for almost 3 years. It will be 3 years in October.
Q: What are your job responsibilities, or what does a typical day look like for you at your job?
A: My job responsibilities include: tracking the performance of our District Managers and the Operations team; managing our Customer Service team; installing best practices for District Managers; working with our Regional Directors to manage their operations; helping new offices manage their operations; training District Managers; travelling to our regional offices on a twice-monthly basis; increasing District Manager sales and customer retention; general Operations training; standardizing processes for our new franchisees and new accounts.
Q: What led you to working for OpenWorks? (Also, if you were promoted from within, please elaborate)
A: Originally, I found that OpenWorks was a very attractive opportunity due to the growth potential. When I was originally hired I was a District Manager and 14 months later I was promoted to Senior District Manager – last month I was promoted to National Operations Manager.
Q: What do you love about your job?
A: The ability to impact the organization daily and help improve the quality of work of the Operations Team and the department as a whole.

A: The people and culture.

Q: Is there anything coming up that you’re excited about in your job or for OpenWorks in general?
A: I will be traveling to 2 offices per month to work more closely with the District Managers, Regional Directors and Reginal Operations Managers.
