Higher! No, lower! Do you often find yourself fighting with coworkers over office temperatures? According to a recent national survey regarding interoffice war on temperature, this is a common argument among office mates. The survey, which included more than 300 American workers aged 25-55, revealed that more than half of working Americans battle their coworkers over office temperature settings!
The survey revealed that more than 3 in 5 (61 percent) of men prefer an office set at 70 or below while nearly 40 percent of women prefer 72 or higher. This difference in temperature preferences is just asking for some interoffice disputes!
When things don’t go their way, employees will secretly change the temperature, persuade the person in charge to do it or directly confront their colleagues. The survey showed that when it’s too hot or cold, 3 in 5 (61 percent) of workers will change the temperature without permission. And more than 2 in 3 (68 percent) will persuade the person in charge to do it.
